Velike Lašče

The Municipality of Velike Lašče boasts itself with a rich cultural, historical, sacral and natural heritage. It is presented as the cradle of Slovenian culture. Primož Trubar (Rašica) and the poets and writers Fran Levstik (Dolnje Retje) and Josip Stritar (Podsmreka) were born here. The picturesque landscape with pristine nature (the Waterfalls of Creek Bajdinc, the Kobilji curek Waterfall, Krvava Peč with its surroundings) offers the visitors active leisure time – walking or cycling on well-maintained trails.
