Kranj

Kranj is Slovenia’s third largest city, located halfway between Ljubljana and Bled.

It stands on a rock between two rivers, the Sava and the Kokra, and is surrounded by the Slovenian Alps. The Kokra River Canyon, winding 30 metres below the town centre, is the second largest urban canyon in Europe. It is the city with its 6000 years of history and a vivid cultural vibe. The city is the guardian of the heritage of Slovenia’s greatest poet, France Prešeren, author of the Slovenian national anthem. This destination has been awarded for its sustainability efforts with the Platinum Label of the Green Scheme in Slovenian Tourism and the title of European Destination of Excellence 2023.
