Round trip 8

PO PODZEMLJU NA MORJE

Postojna–Divača–Sežana–Ankaran–Hrpelje - Kozina–Postojna

FROM UNDERGROUND WONDERS TO THE SEA

We all know the mystical Postojna Cave (with its train ride), but what about Cold War spy stories? When visiting the UNESCO-listed Škocjan Caves, don’t miss the mighty 50-meter-high Cerkvenik Bridge. Dive into the world of Slovenian cinema. Near Sežana lies the Living Museum of the Karst. The Karst prosciutto and the wine-growing hills around Tomaj and Dutovlje also deserve your attention. Not far away is the Vilenica Cave. After a stop on the coast, return to the crossroads of three worlds, where 13 hiking trails and the mysterious Dimnica Cave await – where, according to legend, the devil smokes meat in winter.

The Karst is a land of contrasts: harsh soil and precious water, the bora wind and the masters of prosciutto.
